CTO options

1. Modem (CTO and AASP installable but not customer installable).
2. 400GB SATA Hard drive
3. 2x 400GB SATA Hard drive

The NVIDIA GeForce 6800 Ultra DDL card remains available as CTO option.

AASP Upgrade Kits
In addition to this there are two upgrade kits available for Apple Authorised Service Providers only:
M9983: AASP Power Mac Internal Modem Upgrade Kit
M9984: AASP Power Mac Bluetooth Upgrade Kit

Power Mac Single Processor 1.8GHz Configuration
The Single Processor Power Mac G5 1.8GHz (M9555B/A) remains in the range and is unaffected by these changes, the specification and price remain the same. Mac OS X Tiger will be available as a drop in kit for this configuration.

Additional Information regarding Apple Cinema HD Display 30"
In addition to the price reductions on the two models above, it is worth noting that customers buying a Power Mac G5 Dual 2.7GHz can connect 1 x Apple Cinema HD Display 30" without adding the nVidia 6800 Ultra DDL as a CTO option. This is made possible by the included ATI Radeon 9650 graphics card which has 1 x Dual-Link DVI & 1 x Single-Link DVI connectors. Another DVI display, such as an Apple Cinema HD Display 20" or 23", can be connected to the Single-Link DVI connector and run concurrently with an Apple Cinema HD Display 30".

To summarise - Customers wishing to purchase a Power Mac G5 Dual 2.7GHz & 1 x Apple Cinema HD Display 30" are effectively saving £300 (CTO) or £399 (standalone kit).

Customers wishing to connect 2 x Apple Cinema HD Display 30" will still need to purchase the nVidia 6800 Ultra DDL graphics card as either a CTO option when they order their Power Mac G5 (£300) or as a standalone kit (£399).

AppleCare Protection Plan
By purchasing the AppleCare Protection Plan for Power Mac, customers can immediately take advantage of a comprehensive service and support plan which extends the hardware coverage and phone support to three years from the computer's purchase date. The plan includes coverage for :
· Apple hardware including AirPort Card, AirPort Express and AirPort Extreme Base Station, and
  Apple RAM
· The Mac operating system and many Apple consumer applications
· One Apple display when it is purchased at the same time as a covered Power Mac

Availability
The above Power Mac G5 configurations have been superceeded by new models in October 2005 and are no longer available.
